Academic is proud to announce that the SAGES educational programs are now available for Academic’s members.

Fundamental Use of Surgical Energy/Hospital Compliance, Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery and many more course are offered.

SAGES Fundamental Use of Surgical Energy (FUSE) –

FUSE was designed to certify that a successful candidate has demonstrated the knowledge fundamental to the safe use of surgical energy-based devices in the operating room, endoscopic suite and other procedural areas. The educational module consists of a web-based multimedia presentation of didactic content.

Fundamental Use of Surgical Energy (FUSE) Hospital Compliance –

The FUSE hospital compliance modules provide the best OR safety program available, designed for every member of the operating team, including technicians and nurses. These are well-designed—and timely tools—that teach OR teams the necessary knowledge to deal with smoke, fire and device-related issues, including surgical smoke toxicity and spread of infection. Its smoke and fire modules are especially pertinent in the current pandemic environment to minimize risk to the OR staff and patients.

Fundamentals of Endoscopic Surgery (FES)

FES establishes a standard set of didactic information and manual skills and serves as a basic curriculum to guide surgical residents, fellows and practicing surgeons in the performance of basic endoscopic surgery.  By mastering the curriculum and skills in this inanimate modality, it is expected that surgical residents and surgeons will initiate and carry out their performance of endoscopy more effectively, with greater skill, greater safety, and lower complication rates.

Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery (FLS)

FLS is a comprehensive web-based education module that includes a hands-on skills training component and assessment tool designed to teach the physiology, fundamental knowledge, and technical skills required in basic laparoscopic surgery. Our goal is to provide surgical residents, fellows and practicing physicians an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of laparoscopic surgery in a consistent, scientifically accepted format; and to test cognitive, surgical decision-making, and technical skills, all with the goal of improving the quality of patient care.

Safe Cholecystectomy Didactic Modules

The Safe Chole Didactic Modules are tailored to enhance the safety of cholecystectomy and reduce biliary injury and other complications of cholecystectomy.
