Doug joined Academic Group as their CFO/CISO in late April 2019 and brings a significant breadth of experience working in medical malpractice insurance and reinsurance. He also has significant leadership experience working with larger global multinational insurers in financial reporting, regulatory compliance, enterprise risk management, finance transformation, business continuity planning and accounting advisory roles. 



Prior to Academic, Doug was with Grant Thornton as a member of their global insurance advisory practice for over seven years in both their New York City and Philadelphia offices. He has advised prominent global multinational insurers and reinsurers in multiple insurance product lines, including the Wall Street area. Before Grant Thornton, Doug was with KPMG in Philadelphia with an overall focus in advising financial services companies.

Doug earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, and their Honors Program from Drexel University. He is an active Certified Public Accountant in both New York and Pennsylvania as well as an active Certified Internal Auditor. Doug is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Institute of Internal Auditors, Medical Malpractice Liability Association, and a member of the Financial Executive Networking Group (both New York City and Philadelphia Chapters).
